It all started with Web 1.0:
Do you know that initially, websites were static? Yes, the very first version of the internet is at times referred to as static web. The reason is that at that time, web pages were only readable. Content creation at that time was handled only by a few people with technical expertise.
Web 2.0:
In October 2004, a revolution was made in web technology by MediaLive and O’Reilly Media. Together they hosted the first web 2.0 conference for highlighting a host of new applications that were built on the web.
Thereafter, in late 2005, YouTube entered the market. The video-sharing website played a major role in the evolution of web 2.0. It will not be an overstatement to say that YouTube marked the departure of the internet to an era of dynamic content. After the birth of web 2.0, web users are able to now interact with web pages. They are able to create content and it is now possible to communicate with each other using web technology.
When talking about the evolution of web 2.0, a prominent role is played by social media networks undoubtedly. Then followed the smartphones. The first iPhone was launched in 2007.
Nowadays, most websites follow web 2.0 and have not yet moved to web 3.0. Still, we are able to create, share and comment on content instantly. Above all, we are able to do these things right from our smartphones in our palms. This is why web 2.0 is called dynamic web as it emerged from static web 1.0 web technology.

We are seeing great improvement in web technology right in the second generation. So, naturally, everyone will doubt what will be in store with web 3.0. Yes, this latest web technology is still in its infancy in most world nations. But, it is quickly emerging. With this latest web technology, you will be able to do things that you have never imagined in the past.
The first generation was read-only, the second is read-write and the third generation is read, write and own. It is highly challenging to give a precise definition of web 3.0. The reason is that it stays as a combination of ideas. For instance, for cryptocurrency enthusiasts and developers, web 3.0 encompasses concepts and technologies that are the core of crypto. Examples include blockchain technology, token-based economies, and decentralization. The definition is even more special for the gaming industry and gamers.
